Ba Zi is a prediction system based on a person’s date of birth, formed in ancient China. Ba Zi contains all the wisdom and observation, the personality has everything that shows its relationship with nature and the qualities that it takes from the elements, being born on a certain day. Ba Zi is like a natal chart.
What kind of metaphysical system is this?
Ba-Zi is a Feng Shui tool that provides a person with the opportunity to understand what qualities he possesses, as well as find the most suitable methods of interacting with others. The map indicates the capabilities inherent in a person and shows the directions in which they can be used. By carefully studying the map, you can determine the future.
Analysis of the Ba-Tzu map will allow you to:
- build deep relationships with friends by eliminating misunderstandings between people;
- understand how the human body works, identifying its strengths and weaknesses, reducing the risk of possible diseases;
- identify activities that will reveal a person’s potential and provide an opportunity to develop it;
- choose the best time to start any important business.
Based on his life experience, a person will be able to find out why certain events occur in his life, and how they can be corrected in order to find harmony with himself and the world around him.
Dark structures
There are several types of dark structures and their subtypes: 1. Dark collision: - reverse collision of a lucky horse; - a happy horse flying in the sky; - closed well. 2. Dark connection.
I will not describe Ba Tzu's theory regarding these structures. Since in each course it is clarified that this information is extremely rare and quite difficult to understand, and it must be transmitted only from teacher to student. To find out something about these structures, it is worth taking the appropriate courses.
Brief analysis of personality elements
The Ba-Tzu system in Europe is known as the “Four Pillars of Fate and Luck.” Human life on this map is reflected in the form of combinations of Heavenly trunks and Earthly branches. To create a map, parameters such as the hour, day, month and year of a person’s birth are taken. Each item consists of 2 hieroglyphs: the sign of Heaven and the sign of Earth. Celestial signs are designated by 5 elements, each of which can exist in 2 types.
The analysis of the card begins by reading the symbols that form the Personality Element.
The Yang tree gives people strong character, perseverance and straightforwardness. They are conservative, do not like change and have difficulty making compromises. Personalities of this type easily achieve goals; they are characterized by perfectionism.

The Yin tree gives people softness, flexibility, and pliability. They easily adapt to circumstances and know how to smooth out rough edges. A person with such a symbol in the card is characterized by delicacy, eloquence and a sense of tact. He is easily influenced by others.
People with a Yang Fire sign are characterized by openness, generosity, optimism and constancy. They have a lot of energy, which they generously share with others, inspiring them to noble deeds. People of this type cannot remain angry for a long time or remember grievances. These are passionate, impulsive natures, who often suffer from their own temper. They are always the center of attention.
People of the Yin Fire element are distinguished by their fickle and emotional personality type. In addition, they have qualities such as ardor and sensitivity. They need to constantly feel supported so they can inspire other people. People of Yin Fire are vulnerable, they let everything pass through them. They often accumulate feelings and then splash them out on others, recalling old grievances.
The Yang Earth sign endows people under its protection with stability and reliability. They are characterized by strength and responsibility. Their shortcomings are slowness and stubbornness. Having made a decision, people of this type no longer change it. These individuals are characterized by skepticism and pragmatism and are difficult to deceive. Thanks to their perseverance, they achieve their goals.
People of the Yin Earth element are distinguished by honesty, caring, intelligence and developed intellect. The disadvantages of individuals of this type can be excessive humility, naivety and inability to defend their interests. Possessing a strong maternal instinct, such people often surround loved ones with care, which often develops into possessiveness.
Yang metal gives people hardness, endurance, loyalty, and reliability. They are loyal in friendship and love, but do not forgive betrayal and betrayal. Thanks to their assertiveness and determination, these people often become leaders with a strong-willed hand. This type of personality has high resistance to stress and is not afraid of the opinions of others.
Yin metal characterizes charming people who love comfort and strive for care and attention. Material well-being is important to them. At the same time, behind the apparent gentleness and humility lies a firm person who knows well what he needs from life. He knows how to show flexibility, pliability, hear different points of view, and find compromises.
Yang water gives a person energy, love of freedom and strong will. Such people quickly adapt to circumstances and have good learning abilities. They are always very active.
People with the Yin Water element are seemingly gentle and defenseless, but inside them lies great strength that gives them the opportunity to achieve any goals. This type of personality is distinguished by developed intelligence, rich imagination and the ability to feel the mood of others. The disadvantages are sometimes excessive secrecy and suspicion.
The role of the five elements
The heavenly trunks are presented as 5 elements (elements), which exist in the forms of yin and yang, i.e. there are 10 elements in total. The elements create each other, forming a circle of creations:
- wood creates fire;
- fire (yin, yang) – earth (yin, yang);
- earth (yin, yang) creates metal (yin, yang);
- metal (yin, yang) – water (yin, yang);
- water (yin, yang) – wood (yin, yang).
Each trunk has a designation in the form of a hieroglyph: The Yang tree is read as “Jia”; Yin tree – you need to read “I”; The character Fire Yang is read “Bin”; Yin Fire – read as “Ding”; Yang Earth is read “U”; Earth Yin – “Ji”; Metal Yang read “Gen”; Metal Yin - “Xin”; Yang Water is read as “Ren”; Yin Water is read “Gui”.
The Earthly Branches in the system correspond to 12 calendar animals, i.e. there are 12 branches, each of which is contained in a year, a day and an hour. The branches are also subordinate to the circle of 5 elements:
- Rat is Yang water (the branch is called Zi).
- Ox – Yin Earth (Chow).
- Tiger – Yang (Yin) Tree.
- Rabbit – Yin Tree (Mao branch).
- Dragon - Earth Yang (Chen).
- Snake – Yin (Si) Fire.
- Horse – Yang Fire (Wu branch).
- Goat – Earth Yin (Wei).
- Monkey – Metal Yang (Sheng).
- Rooster – Yin Metal (the branch is designated Yu).
- Dog – Earth Yang (Xu).
- Pig – Water Yin (Hai).
Combining, 10 Trunks and 12 Branches make 60 combinations, forming an endless circle, - the trunks are written in the top line, the branches are entered under them in the bottom line. Because There are 2 more branches than trunks, continue to enter the names several times, repeating trunks 6 times and branches 5 times, until the initial (Jia Zi) combination is formed. These 60 double characters are called the Jia Zi cycle. Each connection of a heavenly trunk with an earthly branch is called a pillar, i.e. There are 60 Jia Zi or 60 pillars. Years, months, days and hours have their own Jia Zi, and you can find out the pillars present using the solar calendar.
Methods for drawing a Ba-Zi map
Creating a map yourself is not an easy task. Since this requires using a different calendar, it is better to entrust the drawing up of the diagram to a professional. The vertical graphs correspond to each month that begins with the Chinese calendar. For example, the beginning of the month of Cheng in 2010 in China fell on April 5, 23 hours 23 minutes. At the same time, the time in the grid is Beijing, so the person’s time of birth must be adjusted in accordance with this indicator. The calendar will help you find the necessary pillars that correspond to your date of birth.
February is the beginning of the year, so those born in January belong to the year before. The structure of the Ba-Tzu map is 2 rows and 4 columns. It will also not be easy to decrypt the card yourself, so you should seek the help of a specialist.
The “vis-a-vis” structure or two elements in a map
In Bazi, it is generally accepted that the structure of the “vis-a-vis” is a map where only two elements are present - two spirits looking at each other. Both elements must be immediately present in the map. If the second element is formed as a result of mergers, then this is a false “vis-a-vis”.
Favorable in a scenario where there are two elements, where one generates the other, is considered to be the element that goes further in the circle of generation. For example, if the map contains water and wood, then fire will be useful. And the remaining two are unfavorable. In this example, metal and earth.
In vis-a-vis cards, where two elements are in the process of being overcome (for example, earth destroys water), the favorable energies are those that are present in the card and the one that is implied between them (for example, earth, metal and water). An unfavorable element is one that attacks the one standing between the two energies represented in the chart (in this case, the metal standing between earth and water is attacked by fire). The remaining element is usually neutral (here the remaining element is wood).
Maps of the vis-a-vis type are dependent on ten-year cycles, which can greatly influence the course of life events, creating turbulence in it. In Bazi, it is believed that people with vis-a-vis cards have things differently than others.
I have never seen vis-a-vis pillars of fate in my practice. After all, they are quite rare.
Subsequent analysis of the cards - we get answers to all questions
Analyzing the Ba Tzu chart requires experience and theoretical knowledge. There is a general aspect that suggests that each element is responsible for a facet of personality, such as power, resources, money, self-expression and environment.
If the personality element is Fire, then the following decoding can be made:
- Fire is born from Wood, which means that it will have the main resource for a person (life, values, ideas, etc.);
- Fire is controlled by Water, which means this element will tell about who has power over a person (career area);
- Fire does not lend itself to Metal, which is associated with achievements, incl. financial;
- Fire is on Earth, which is its way of self-expression;
- Elements close to Fire represent the human environment.
A complete decoding of the Ba Tzu card can be carried out by a specialist, since only he can correctly read the symbols and determine how they relate to each other.
Yansky region
In Ba-Tzu, it is believed that people with cards of the “Yang Edge” type are very strong, capable of leading troops or organizations. It is impossible to convince people of this type; it is useless to argue with them. The map of the “Yansky region” structure is revealed according to its own rules. In it, a strong element of personality is usually supported by the month of birth: - Yang tree is supported by the Rabbit; - Yang fire - Horse; - Yang-earth - Horse; - Yang metal - Rooster; - Yang water - Rat.
That is, here the personality element is in the “imperial lamp” or “imperial glow” qi phase. A person with the “Yang Land” card has problems when there is a clash between the earthly branch of the month of birth and the coming year or period of life. In this case, the adversary, enemy or competitor is activated and creates problems. Or an accident occurs. After all, it is believed that when the “Yang edge” collides, its forces are activated.
I haven't had to look at maps like "Yansky region". But among Ba-Tzu consultants it is believed that among the famous people Alexander Solzhenitsyn, Anatoly Chubais and Ingrid Betancourt have cards of this structure.
It should be noted that in some Ba-Tzu schools there are only three types of “Yang edge” cards: - Yang tree supported by the Rabbit; - Yang metal - Rooster; - Yang water - Rat. Other schools emphasize that a person of the Yang-Earth element cannot have the “Yang Land” card.
Many consultants are confident that the “Yang Land” card belongs to a person of the yin element, born in the month when the qi of this energy flourishes. That is, for example, the personality element yin-fire, born in the month of the Snake, is considered the owner of such a card. Useful elements in the “Yansky region” map in the methods of some masters are considered as for an ordinary map, in others it is believed that only power and money are useful.
What is the result?
When analyzing the Pillars of Destiny, you can look at them from different angles. From them you can determine and understand:
- our characteristics and personal qualities;
- opportunities related to the professional sphere;
- our relatives and our relationships with them;
- our state of health and possible problems relating to the body;
- our life path from youth to old age;
- our appearance in general, external distinctive features.
And this is contained in several hieroglyphs. To become a professional in the Pillars of Destiny, theory alone is not enough. You must immediately put into practice the acquired knowledge, study yourself and others: as you gain experience, you will understand how this method works. Therefore, when you read any article, check everything on your own map, on the maps of your friends and relatives. It is necessary to correlate abstract signs with the real lives of people.
